Our Top Tips For Cleansing Your Mind & Your Business For 2022
January is the time we all love to do a super cleanse. Most of us will have been guilty of over-indulging over the festive period, this could have been with food, drinks or financially! Well…it’s time to cleanse yourself and your business ready for a cracking new year!
In this blog our educator Nikki Murphy, will go through some ideas of how you can cleanse your mind and your business this January ready to hit 2022 with a bang and have a FABULASH year!
Time To Reflect
We know you may not want to think about it but NOW is the time to start planning for next Christmas! When speaking to others in the industry it has been a common comment that this festive period was an extremely difficult one. With many finding they had a high number of cancellations, staff sickness and even no shows! So, it’s more important than ever to put in place contingency plans to help with this in the future.
One of the main ways to do this is to ensure you have a tight booking policy that protects you as a business…
- Some businesses take a booking fee – this could be a % of the treatment cost. Non-refundable if the client is a no-show or they cancel after a certain timeframe.
- Others implement a cancellation charge – this is usually again a % or set fee if a client cancels after a set timeframe (bear in mind this can be harder to obtain from someone unless you have a booking system that holds card details on file).
Have a think which is best for you and your type of business. Don’t be frightened to implement this. Your clients will be happy to support you with it, after all they want you to still be around next Christmas!
When was the last time you gave your workspace a really good deep clean? (Mobile techs this applies to you too! Cars and bags count as workspaces 😉). Obviously, this is something we should be always keeping on top of – but there is nothing like a good sort out and deep clean to get you ready for a fresh start to the new year!
- Get rid of anything you don’t need.
- Check all your stock levels of your favourite products – by making room you have clarity to see what you do need.
- You could sell some of your old bits and bobs so you have the extra cash to get some exciting new lash mail on its way to you!
- Get organised – when you are having a sort through make sure that everything has a place, label makers are amazing for this, “Hinch” your lash space and then you will be ready for the year ahead!
Having a planner for the year really helps with where you want your business to go, not only that but you can also pop in key dates i.e. Valentines, Easter, May Day etc. You can then plan events, your social media and how you will communicate to your clients around these.

Sonia Gapper – Sonia entered the Lash Festival competition, she placed in the top 10 which is such a fantastic achievement! Lash Festival is a competition held by us, The Eyelash Emporium, due to the pandemic it was put on pause but watch this space to see if it will be back!
Nikki Murphy – Loved The Hair & Beauty Honours - it’s a new online competition. Low cost to enter and the host are super friendly and are amazing at sharing and boosting everyone along the way. Nikki’s next goal is Olympia Beauty, a live competition!
When did you last review your pricing? Now is a great time to plan ahead to do a price increase. April is a great time to do this as it is the start of the financial year. Don’t be afraid of this your clients love you! You are using award winning products and have also had some of the best training in the business! Believe in yourself and your ability. Do a small increase if you have not done one for a while, as long as you make your clients aware of this in advance and they will be absolutely fine.
January is a great time to think about self-development. When did you last attend any training? Are you keeping up with the latest trends in the industry? Education is the most amazing and rewarding way to develop yourself and your team. A lot of people rely on social media/the internet to keep up with what is happening in the industry. Whilst this is an amazing way to stay informed there is no better way than hearing the best tips and hints first-hand!
Get yourself booked onto some training or mentoring this year. Have you been pondering about your retention of your lashes or perhaps your fans are not quite as fluffy as you’d like them to be? Are you trained in classic lashes and nothing else? Make it your goal you 100% will not regret it!
