What is Brow Lamination? A Must-Have Technique for Technicians

As a lash technician, you know the importance of accentuating your clients' features to create a stunning look. While eyelashes are your primary focus, we cannot ignore the impact that well-groomed eyebrows have on framing the eyes. That's why we think you should explore the world of brow lamination, a technique that can take your lash services to the next level. Lets dive into the details of brow lamination, its benefits, and how it can elevate your clients' overall beauty experience.

WHAT IS BROW LAMINATION?

Brow lamination, also referred to as brow lifting or brow perming, is a semi-permanent beauty treatment specifically designed to transform the appearance of eyebrows. The technique involves using a specialised chemical solution to reshape and groom brow hairs, providing a fuller, sleeker, and more defined look. By lifting and setting the hairs, brow lamination gives clients greater control over the brow shape and allows for more flexibility in styling. With a short treatment time and a simple aftercare regime, it’s the perfect low-maintenance treatment that lasts up to 8 weeks.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF EYEBROW LAMINATION?

Adding brow lamination to your repertoire can enhance your services and offer clients a complete eye makeover. Here's a step-by-step guide to performing brow lamination:

Adding brow lamination to your repertoire can enhance your services and offer clients a complete eye makeover. Here's a step-by-step guide to performing brow lamination:

  1. Consultation: Begin the process with a consultation to understand your client's desired brow shape and style. Assess their natural brow hair and discuss the most suitable lamination technique to complement their facial features. Make sure to perform a patch test 48 hours before treatment to identify any adverse reactions to the product.
  2. Preparation: Cleanse the brow area to remove any excess oil or makeup before treatment.
  3. Bonder: Apply a small amount of bonder to the brows in small sections and use a Y-COMB to lift the brow hairs and straighten them at the root.
  4. Brow Lifting: Using a micro-applicator, carefully apply the lifting lamination solution to soften and relax the hair structure making it more flexible for shaping. Top tip: apply cling film over the brows to absorb extra heat!
  5. Remove Solution: Peel off the cling film and use a dry cotton pad to remove the lifting solution from the brows.
  6. Brow Setting & Tinting: Using a dappen dish, mix the tint and setting solution at a ratio of 2:1. Once mixed, apply the product over the brow hairs, ensuring that you remove any excess solution from around the brow for a neat finish.
  7. Remove Solution: Peel off the cling film and use a dry cotton pad to remove the tint and solution from the brows.
  8. Brow Boost: Using a sponge applicator, apply keratin booster solution over the brows to nourish them and ensure that the hairs stay healthy and strong. Brush upwards and style the brows into the client's desired shape and set them into place.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BROW LAMINATION?

  1. Enhanced Brow Shape: Brow lamination enables you to reshape and redefine your clients' brows, resulting in a more symmetrical and balanced appearance that beautifully complements their eyes and lashes.
  2. Fuller and Thicker Brows: By lifting and setting the brow hairs, lamination creates the illusion of fuller and more voluminous brows - a particularly beneficial treatment for clients with sparse or thin eyebrows.
  3. Improved Brow Definition: Brow lamination tames unruly brow hairs, making them more manageable and easier to style, saving your clients from the hassle of using excessive brow gels or waxes.
  4. Time-saving: With brow lamination, your clients can significantly reduce their daily brow grooming routine. Their brows will maintain their desired shape and style effortlessly, allowing them to save time during their morning makeup application.
  5. Semi-permanent Results: Although brow lamination isn't permanent, its effects typically last for around 4-8 weeks, depending on individual hair growth and maintenance, meaning your clients can enjoy flawlessly groomed brows for some time before needing a touch-up.

Incorporating brow lamination into your services can elevate your clients' beauty experience and provide them with a complete eye transformation. The art of brow lamination offers enhanced brow shape, fuller and thicker brows, improved definition, time-saving convenience, and semi-permanent results. By mastering this treatment, you can become a one-stop destination for creating stunning lash and brow looks, leaving your clients feeling confident and beautiful.
